Sometime between Friday at 5pm (Sept. 20th) and Sunday morning at 8am (Sept. 22) the Mount Hermon’s Shops and Warehouse yard was broken into. The cyclone fence was cut and at least 1000 ft. of large diameter (1”+) phone cable was stolen. The cable was on two spools but was removed and cut into smaller lengths. Two of our wheel barrows were also located outside the fence near the railroad tracks as well as some cut lengths of the stolen cable scattered around the area.
It seems as if our wheel barrows were used to transport the cable to a vehicle on Roaring Camp Road by at least two people. It is likely the perpetrators intend to sell the cable as scrap for the metal value as it is worthless as phone cable all cut up. The value of the cable is over $1200 but as scrap is likely about $50.
Please call the Sheriffs office if anyone saw any suspicious activity on Roaring Camp Road this weekend. The case number is: 13-8071
