In the last few days 6/6/, 6/7, we have a contractor that has been trimming trees along the roadways for better access and visibility. They mentioned that a resident or two were upset with them while they were blocking the roadway while chipping brush. We apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused, hopefully the long term benefits will out way the short amount of inconvenience. We will ask the contractor to try to alert residents with better signage in the future.

When we needed to get out or in they moved without complaint. On the other hand it would have been nice to have had some advanced notice. They did a great job. Our road feels much wider.

On the topic of trimming for sight distance, I suggest that tree foliage on the right side of the corp yard driveway (as you are turning on to Graham Hill Road) be trimmed.
Another place where sight distance gets obstructed is at the intersection of Zayante Road and Redwood Circle. There have been years where I have borrowed MH's weedwacker and done the work myself. Will do again if no one else does it first....which I would prefer.
Previously I have suggested that the County be requested to install an advance warning sign on northbound Zayante Road, just north of the new Redwood Camp entrance gate. Drivers turning onto Zayante Road from both Redwood Circle and Highland Drive (across from each other) find it challenging when cars (often exceeding the 35 mph speed limit) come barreling by this intersection. The worst is the traffic coming from the south.

The worst is the traffic coming from the south. Thanks for the suggestions. All three of those requests are the responsibility of Santa Cruz County as they are on county roadways. I will send public works an email making these requests. If they do not respond in a timely manner, MHA will work on the trimming. We can not install signs however on the County Road. We were successful in the past getting a similar sign installed by the County but we had to pay for the sign and post. Perhaps we could do this again if it comes to that. Mark UPDATE 6-12-13, an email request was sent to Santa Cruz County Public Works for the above mentioned requests. UPDATE 6-25-13, a check was sent, at thier request, to County Public Works for the installation of two signs on East Zayante Rd.

Tomorrow, 6/26/13 a tree crew will work on Canyon Road clearing the branches overhanging the roadway. It should only take a few hours. Mark
